College Curling Program

About Our College Curling Program

The Triangle Curling Club college curling program started in 2022. The program provides an opportunity for college and graduate students to try curling, develop their skills and techniques, and play short games. There is also a path to competitive curling as part of a college team and an opportunity to become a college member of the Triangle Curling Club.

Currently, Triangle Curling Club hosts student organizations from Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, and NC State. If your university is interested in joining the Triangle College Curling program, or if you have other questions, please contact the program coordinators at This email address is being protected from spambots. Why Curling?

Curling is an inclusive sport that ANYONE can excel at, and we're super excited to be offering college and graduate students the chance to learn new skills, build confidence, and develop leadership and teamwork abilities through participation in this fantastic and fast-growing sport. Curling is a game built on a tradition of sportsmanship and sociability, where no one sits out, every team member is essential, and every game begins and ends with handshake or fist bump.

Our team of instructors includes college alumni, faculty and staff. We provide all the equipment you need to get started. Given the local NC alumni base in the Triangle Curling Club, we are looking forward to expanding our friendly and competitive nature to the ice.

What do you need to know?

  • Minimum age? 18
  • Cost? $10

What will you need to bring?

  • No raised heels or flip flops. Running shoes work well as long as the soles are clean.
  • It can be cold on the ice, so we suggest dressing in layers and bringing a light jacket. Gloves and thick socks can also help.
  • Pants that offer easy movement are important as you will be required to stretch and get into positions for which tight pants and jeans are not necessarily appropriate.

Other Ways to Try Curling

Check out our Learn to Curl Sessions or Pick-Up and Pizza nights. No experience is necessary.
