See you in 2027! The information below pertains to the 2026 event
It's almost the end of 2025, and that can only mean one thing…It's time for the 2026 New Years Day Bonspiel! Start 2026 off right with us at a one-day bonspiel designed for curlers new and old to come together. If you've never had a chance to play in a bonspiel before, this is a great time to try one!
When: Thursday, January 1, 2026. Everyone plays two games starting at either 9:15am or 11:30am with a lunch break.
Where: Triangle Curling Club - 2310 So Hi Drive, Durham, NC 27703
Cost: $30 for members, $45 for non-members. New curlers welcome if you've participated in a Learn to Curl or pick-up game previously.
Food: We'll provide lunch between games. Feel free to bring a snack or dessert to share.
White Elephant: Following tradition, we'll be doing our white elephant gift exchange. Winning team gets the advantage of choosing last! Please bring a wrapped gift to share.
A few items to be aware of:
- Everyone will play 2 games.
- You don't have to be a member to play this event, so if your friends want to play, they're welcome to do so as long as they've participated in at least one learn to curl as no instruction will be provided at this event.
- You can specify 1 other person you want to curl with, but you cannot register full teams. Teams will be assembled by the coordinator to try to keep games competitively balanced.
- Registration is limited to 32 people. Once registration fills up, a waitlist will open, so if registrants drop out, people will be moved up from the waitlist.
- Your registration fee will include lunch and prizes.
- The white elephant gift exchange will take place at the end of the bonspiel. Gift limit is $30.
- We will call on participants to help do the ice, serve lunch, and tend bar so please be ready to help out.
