Effective immediately, Triangle Curling Club is closed for the 2019-2020 curling season. All curling events scheduled through the end of the season are canceled, including leagues, practice, the Triangle Club Spiel, the Carolina Classic, and the Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Point Spiel. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) has been postponed until May 30, 2020 (tentative). The ice is scheduled to be removed by the end of the month.
This was not an easy decision to make. The Board discussed all options at length before coming to this conclusion. Thanks to all our members who have offered help and support. To inform this decision, guidance was taken from the GNCC, USA Curling, the NC DHHS, the CDC, and several other sources.
Annual General Meeting and Elections
The AGM has been tentatively rescheduled for May 30. Elections for open Board seats will be held via online voting prior to this date, with results being announced at the AGM. A follow-up email will be going out in the coming weeks with information on how to submit a nomination for the election, followed by an electronic ballot.
Refunds
All registrations for upcoming events, such as the Carolina Classic and the Triangle Club Spiel, will receive full refunds via PayPal. Due to the extraordinary circumstances we are currently experiencing, along with the increased expenditures necessary to navigate these times, we are unable to process pro-rated refunds for membership and league fees.
Personal Property
There will be times set up for members to come to the club and collect personal property (brooms, lost and found, etc.) Please look out for an email in the near future with this information.
We are very sad to end the season short, but our first obligation is to the safety and wellbeing of our members. We will be back for an incredible 2020-2021 season in the fall! Stay safe and stay healthy.
