St. Patrick's Day Parade 2012

The Triangle Curling Club participated in its second St. Patrick’s Day parade this past Saturday March 17. It was a beautiful sunny day with fairly warm temperature even for Raleigh in March. The weekend before a number of members were at the home of Kathy and Murray Jackson to help prepare the “Float” and this year a new curling rock was added thanks to the skillful hands of Jeff Turnham. Participating in the parade were Kathy and Murray Jackson, Clifford Gray and Lea Franklin, Steve and Leah Janosko, Sue Mitchell, Chris Jaun, Mike Norris, Kalon Self and Andrew Foulger. Mike, Kalon and Andrew were the big hits of the parade as they were all wearing their rather colorful curling pants. This seemed to get the attention of the large crowd along the parade route. Calls of “I love your pants” were frequently heard along the 50 minute route. Flyers were handed out to advertise our next Learn to Curl on April 22.
